I can find no good study of the potential voting of illegal aliens. It would actually be quite easy to get some data on this question. 

States are required to gather certain information about voters and many states acquire additional information. This information is available for anybody who voted. 

First, you would pick several voting precincts that could be argued to potentially have a high number of  illegal aliens voting. Some might be high numbers, some might be very partisan ones in swing states.

Second, you would get the voter information of a statistically significant number of people who voted in these precincts. 

Third, you would thoroughly and exhaustively investigate each of these voters to confirm they have the legal right to vote. You can provide an incentive for people to cooperate. You could provide immunity for people to cooperate.

Your results would be:

Total votes

Legal Votes

Illegal Alien Votes

Indeterminate Votes

This information would allow all of the intellectually honest people to see if there is or is not a problem and come up with solutions. 

Interestingly, this would also allow identification of some other possible voting regularities, such as voting twice or dead people voting.
