Trump is geopolitically naïve and intellectually lazy.
Why he is pushing Ukraine and not pushing Russia is anybody’s guess.
Perhaps he really wants that Nobel peace prize, but he’s going down the path of a Nobel capitulation prize.
If you can’t be persuaded to alter his position then Europe will have to step up.
As somebody who voted for Trump three times and support many of his policies, unfortunately, if he gives away Ukraine, I will actively support his impeachment.
Trump‘s security guarantee would be worth less than the paper it is written on. And remember that article 5 doesn’t require allies to join a fight. It just gives them permission to join the fight.
