Europe and Canada not Paying Their Fair Share

US Subsidizing EU and Canada Defense

With all of the discussion regarding NATO and what Trump may or may not do, it is a good time to look at defense spending.

The US is spending significantly more than European counties and Canada from both an absolute amount and as a percent of GDP.

It is not clear why the US is not putting tremendous pressure on European countries and Canada to pay their fair share.
