CONSTITUTIONAL but Dumb

The Mayorkas impeachment was Constitutional but it was also dumb. 

It was Constitutional because Article 1 Section 2 says “The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment,” and the House impeached him. 

It was dumb not because Mayorkas hasn’t flagrantly ignored the law allowing millions of illegal aliens into the US, but because the Democrats control the Senate and there was no chance they were going to convict him. But surprisingly the Senate abdicated it’s Constitutional responsibility to hold a trial, even an abbreviated condensed one. This is unprecedented. 

Constitution Article 2 Section 3 - “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.”

I guess this impeachment will have to join the lists of other dumb impeachments:

Clinton (acquitted by Senate)

Trump Bribery (acquitted by Senate)

Trump Insurrection (acquitted by Senate)
